I have always been curious to create technological solutions, my own website and applications. Over time I discovered the great demand for coders in Europe and other countries.
I quickly realized that to enter this world, it was necessary to prepare, because it represents an added value in terms of capacity and knowledge
I discovered the Bootcamp format; which consists of gathering 15 people from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with a teacher, for two months to learn to code. This kept me motivated and disciplined to face the different phases of the bootcamp. In addition, the teamwork motivated me to keep working.
Among the keys to success of the format in which I participated Coding Bootcamp , are the intensity and depth with which the course is carried out. As the focus is exclusively on application development, the objectives are achieved in a direct way unlike conventional technologies and methodologies.
In this way, you can make an approach between what the student learns and the level required to develop your own application. Through the bootcamp I learned about new technologies, their barriers and possibilities. Experiences like these open the doors to the world for you.
They guide you to know where to start and how to look for the necessary support. . At the end of the training I managed to develop my own application. Finally I managed to consolidate not only the design and development of the App, but also its publication.

If you have already decided that you want to learn how to code, you have made an excellent decision, so let’s get to work. From my experience, I consider that there are three ways to learn how to code:
On your own: If you’re methodical enough, it can work, but you always need to ask and get some guidance. If there is no methodology for learning, it can be tedious and many times the objectives are not achieved in a certain time.
Bootcamp online: It is a new trend in which the whole process is through live streaming. One of the promoters of this model is Lambda School. The characteristics of this system are:
- They teach you to code for a year full time
- The whole process and information is transmitted by videoconference, with the same schedules for the whole study group.
- You pay the bootcamp with a percentage of your salary when you find a job (they will succeed with you, their main interest is that you find a job)
On-site Bootcamp: this is the path I followed and the one I recommend for several reasons:
- Physical experience is invaluable
- Learning at a face-to-face level can be more complicated, however working and interacting with other people is enriching.
- Team learning is where the world of training should be directed.

A journey of opportunities begins! The trend towards the digitalisation of companies or digital transformation will be increasing in the coming years, and without a doubt there is a serious lack of technological talent, so it is expected that companies compete for the most qualified professionals in certain fields, such as application development, blockchain, cyber security, among others.
To take the first steps or to learn new things later, I recommend you to a platform called Platzi. It’s an excellent alternative, even if you are a beginner in the world of coding and don’t have time for a Bootcamp.
The bootcamp gave me the ability to start developing computer applications myself, which is like learning an intensive English course: with a coding bootcamp you get started and understand what is possible and what is not, it opens the door to the tech world and also gives you a huge range of professional and job opportunities. Thanks to the bootcamp I had for example the opportunity to undertake as CTO, a sample of the opportunities you have if you know how to code.
In the current job market there are many jobs for technicians that are not covered, literally in the sector there is a huge demand and that is a great opportunity.
Let’s have it clear; in the future who doesn’t know how to code – at different levels – will be like not knowing English for example and I dare say like who doesn’t know or can’t write, since knowing the most basic coding is an essential tool to be able to communicate in the market. Another important aspect is that the salaries for technicians, even at an initial level, are high and they are jobs that are not boring because this sector is always reinventing itself, each project is different and that challenges you and drives you to constantly improve and expand your horizon.
